Club meetings at Scout Hut recommenced from Friday 10th July
After a safety and social distancing review of the Scout hut on the 3rd July I am pleased to announce that from Friday 10th July we will be reopening the club from 7pm.
The Scout Hall is a large area and it is easy to achieve a 2m spacing between people there. We will provide Hand sanitizer, and operate a one way system. Entry will be via the main door, exit will be via the fire escape door on the opposite side of the building, then round the outside.
Please note we’d prefer to record your name and contact details on entry. This is in the interests of the public health , so NHS Test & Trace can take action should someone fall ill with Covid-191.
I will ask that all members use your common sense and stick to rules in guidance with government guidelines. Anyone who feels unwell must not attend. Tables will only sit two People one at each end with 2m gap in place throughout the building. Everything will be cleaned prior to each meeting.
Please note no buffet is available so please bring your own refreshments and use your own mugs etc. Meetings will not have any agenda at present but anyone wishing to play with building things and testing antennas will be encouraged. I would recommend we use the outdoor space by preference, hopefully the British summer will be kinder to us than on the review ;)
I appreciate not all radio amateurs may be able to attend, if you or a member of your household is shielding. We will be monitoring S19 (145.475MHz FM) as usual so you can take part.
As things move on and settle down more agenda will be set. All training for exams will remain online till further notice as one to one training would be difficult to do under distancing guidelines. I look forward to welcoming you back!
Best wishes and kind regards
Matt Morse 2E0FNT (Isle of Avalon Amateur Radio Club Chairman)
